SWF Cup #5 & #6 at the Regina Biathlon Club - Jan. 25 & 26 2020
After postponing races due to cold weather, Regina Biathlon Club hosted two days of competition at our range facility at the Regina Wildlife Federation. Thanks to warm weather gods, we had 40 athletes from age 8 to “too old to tell” competing. The second annual “ice-Advil-beer” recreational Masters Class brought in extra competitors and lots of laughs. (Finishers get Advil--coach gets beer).
Competition highlights were the shooting performances of our youngest athletes. After skiing challenging loops, very few targets were missed. The reward of chocolate is a great motivator! Thank you to the dozens of volunteers it takes to run these events!! Thanks to FAE, SaskMilk, Peavy Mart, SuperStore and the SWF who sponsored refreshments and prizes. And thanks to the RSC for the trail grooming. It was great have an audience to witness our exciting winter sport. We are looking forward to the next event!!
Finally Snow!
This Fall and early winter were mild and allowed for lots of practice in the range but left our athletes with less time on skies. So when we started to get snow everyone came out and we shoveled, pushed, skied and hauled snow to allow us to ski in range. It was also a great cross training exercise in skiing with shovels and skiing with sleds full of snow, take every opportunity to work those muscles. :)
Summer/Fall 2019
We had a busy Summer and Fall this year with lots of activity. Big thanks to Dwight, Heather and their family for doing the literal heavy lifting on the window install, many other maintenance and upgrades, we had lots of new families come to the open house, and lots of practice before the snow begun to fall.

Regina Ski Club volunteers grooming White Butte Trails on Jan. 20 2019
Regina Ski Club volunteers grooming about 5 cms of new snow January 20, 2019. Trails excellent in sheltered areas, wind blown in open areas, and some drifting in fenced areas. Access and trails to the RWF biathlon shooting range remain in good condition.
Sask Wildlife Federation Cup Races #3 & #4 - Jan. 12 & 13, 2019 at the Regina Biathlon Club
With over 70 athletes ages 8 to 88 with their entourages of coaches, managers, and families made for a very busy weekend. The weather and trail conditions were excellent. Lots of chocolate for clean shooting. Thank you to FAE, the Sask and Regina Wildlife Federations, SaskMilk, the Grain Services Union, and the many many volunteers who make these events such great successes!!!
